Color and Light have fascinated me since I was a child looking at my Mother's colored glass collection in the kitchen window. Color becomes alive with vibrant kinetic grace unlike anything seen elsewhere when light passes through glass. This brilliant fluidity of color associated with glass has an almost ethereal quality that is always both fascinating and a challenge to work with. This fascination ultimately led me to a career in glass. Glass challenges me to work within its inherent parameters. The juxtaposition of soft and smooth, versus brittle and sharp, constantly keeps me mindful of the limitations of glass. Finding the limitations within a glass project is part of the fascinating challenge that is my attraction to glass.

Frank Lloyd Wright's work became a large influence on my work during my years of working with stained glass. This influence can be seen in the various media in which I work. His language of geometry and the rhythm of repetition, I find very exciting combination. My work, however, is not limited to geometry; it can also unexpectedly take a very organic turn. My interests in light and color have remained constant though, and have influenced my choices within the field of art. Glass will always be my first love, but I have expanded my interests to include jewelry, sculpture and watercolor. Glass or a glass-like look is, however, a common thread within each of these various media.

No matter what media, I will continue to love working with light and color. Whether it is light bouncing off an object or light passing through an object, it will always be a challenge to work with. The elements of light and color with forever hold my interest.
